Carino

Profile Information/tell us more about this pet Meet Cariño!  His name means “dear one” in Spanish, and he lives up to this every day.  Cariño loves attention and to let you know he’s happy, he makes content little noises when he’s being petted or getting a belly rub.  Cariño is an affectionate dog who loves people and wants to be close to his humans. As soon as he meets someone new, he moves in for all the pets.  While he gets along great with his foster dog sister, he would also thrive as an only dog in a home.

Our home is the first house Cariño has ever lived in, and he has adapted well.  He sleeps in a crate at night, and doesn’t make a peep until he’s let out in the morning. Cariño does not guard his food and will share toys. When he’s not playing with toys or his foster dog sister, he can usually be found snoozing.  He is generally quiet in the house, except when someone comes to the door, and he lets them know there’s a guard dog on duty. Therefore, attached housing wouldn’t be recommended for this guy.

Cariño loves to go for walks, and sees them as a great opportunity for exercise and lots of new things to sniff.  The first snowfall was a bit of a shock to this Mexi-pup, but he’s already adapted and still wants to go for a walk, even in the cold! He is learning leash manners slowly and will continue to need some guidance from his adopters to be his best self on leash, especially when meeting other dogs.  Cariño also knows his name and will likely be easily taught recall if he is eventually allowed to go off leash.

Cariño is approximately 4 years old, a nice medium size at around 38 pounds, and his shiny black fur is complemented by beige shading on his legs and feet, and soft brown eyes. Adoption fee is $248
