Profile Information/tell us more about this pet Hi! My name is Hughey –

I am an incredibly handsome 9-year-old young Pug/Shitzu Cross (PugZoo)! Unfortunately, my family had to  move into assistive living , leaving three of us without a home.  A caring woman who boards dogs in our town offered to travel with  me, Spot and Angel  to Calgary to be with Rescue Friends!

It has been a happy whirlwind for me. I have been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated , cleaned and floofed up to make me my most handsome.  My beautiful, luxourious coat is super easy to comb (no tangles – how is that possible??)  and I love to bathe! I am SO EASY. And get this….I DO NOT SHED!

Rescue Friends paid for a significant  dental surgery to remove many rotten teeth. The good news is  I still have about half of my healthy  pearly whites so I’ll be able to tuck into my kibble again soon – honestly,  I can’t tell you how much bettter I feel.

My vet says I might develop a bit of arthritis (normal for my breeds)  but said  supplements should do the trick.  She said my eyesight is still pretty darn good and I can tell you my hearing is great.

My foster mom says I am FABULOUS on leash (like walking a balloon),  housetrained (solidly successful but newly learned so will continue to need a little guidance),  and I know my basic commands.

I adore hanging out with my foster family and their little old dog (about the same size as me – small and around 13 pounds).  Yes, I look like a majestic beast in my photos but I’m a little guy!

My foster mom  calls me “the eager  greeter” – my gorgeous tail never stops wagging and my huge grin makes sure every guest knows they are welcome.  Other than a few happy barks I am  pretty quiet.

Respectful children are fine (probably older than toddlers) and cats are ok.

By the way, I have been practicing being home alone and I’m doing well! But I will need support as I am not keen on being by myself.  Someone who is retired, works from home or can take me on their daily adventures will be best.  Heck, I’m even  small enough I could even scooch into a carry-on bag and go for plane rides!

So my mom says I should finish with this – she  LOVES  LOVES LOVES my snuggly personality and describes me as her super zen, laid back shadow who showers everyone with  happy vibes.  If you are looking for a sweet and loving dog who will be your shadow, walking buddy, and best friend,  I am definitely your guy.  I can’t wait to meet you!

Adoption fee is $350.
