Well… hello there. My name is Mittens.

I suppose I should introduce myself properly, although I do feel one should usually be introduced to me first. But I’ll allow it.

I’m a young lady of refinement with exceptionally large, elegant paws (you may notice them immediately — most people do). They suggest I may grow into quite a magnificent cat, which frankly seems accurate.

Now, I’ll be honest — my early life wasn’t exactly what one would call luxurious. Because of that, I’ve developed a perfectly reasonable policy: I like to take my time deciding if a human is worthy of my trust.

I’m not shy. I simply prefer to observe… evaluate… and make an informed decision.

Once I determine that you are kind, patient, and capable of providing adequate snacks, I begin to relax and enjoy your company.

Speaking of snacks — I should mention I am highly food motivated. Treats are an excellent way to demonstrate your commitment to this relationship.

I live politely with the other animals in my foster home. I respect their space, they respect mine, and we maintain a peaceful household. It’s all very civilized.

I enjoy playing with toys but also appreciate a calm environment where I can settle and relax.
