Dog
Muneca
Adopted
Sweet, happy, little Muneca used to be wheelchair-bound after an accident 3 years ago caused severe damage to her backend. Her rescuer suspects a car accident.
Somehow, over two years, she managed to regain mobility and motors around with a little wobble. She does still suffer from incontinence issues, so her family will need to be understanding and not mind cleaning up accidents. She can wear diapers but cannot live in them as she has very sensitive skin and flare up with skin issues from wearing one too much. This loving gal is deserving of the kindest home that will spoil her. She loves walks but will also hang out comfortably in a soft carrier and accompany you on errands.
She came into our care recently, and we had our vets review her files and assess her. She is medically cleared for adoption but the vet suggested water therapy sessions to help her regain more strength and muscle tone in her backend and continue exercises at home. She does really well getting around, but her gait is abnormal. There is a post pinned on our main Facebook page with a video of her.https://www.facebook.com/RescueFriendsAnimalFoundation

Profile Information | Muneca came to us from Mexico recently. She was very well cared for by her rescuers. Approx 3 years ago she was apparently hit by a car. She had gone from needing a cart to getting around to now walking. She still struggles a bit but is gaining strength every day and is improving. Physical therapy and water therapy sessions will help a lot to regain and maintain muscle tone. She’s like your typical terrier, has an attitude and will speak her mind when she wants something. She may be little but has a BIG personality. Muneca loves snuggles and her head to be rubbed. She wants nothing but attention and wants to be at your side. Another independent small dog would be ideal. She can be a bit protective of her humans. If you feel you can’t resist her sweet little face and think you’d like to change a dog’s life by helping her be a normal dog again, Muneca is your girl. |
