Oliver may have had a rough start to life, but you’d never guess it from his affectionate and vocal personality. Rescued from Grassy Lake in November with his two siblings and a feral mama, Oliver was born outside but quickly adapted to indoor life and has become a total love bug—with a few quirks that make him even more endearing.

💗 Personality & Temperament

Oliver is very shy at first and needs a minimum of three quiet days to decompress in a new environment. During this time, he prefers to hide and observe. But once he settles in—look out! He becomes a chatty, affectionate companion, known for meowing and trilling his way around the house. He’ll follow his humans around and even stand on his hind legs to give kisses when you’re kneeling down.

He’s not a fan of being held for long but loves being near his people and makes strong connections with other cats. He’s shown excellent manners and integrates smoothly into multi-cat homes, always respectful and never pushy. He’s curious, sweet, and happiest when he’s given space to come out of his shell on his own terms.

🧶 Grooming Needs

Oliver is a domestic long-hair and needs regular brushing to prevent matting—especially his magnificent tail! He’s not a fan of being brushed, but with gentle patience and a routine, grooming can be managed.

🩺 Health Notes

He’s had a possible skin condition (likely miliary dermatitis) which responded well to an HA (hypoallergenic) diet. He’s since been transitioned back to regular food with no issues, but his adopter should monitor for any future flare-ups. He occasionally scratches his ears, which will be re-checked at an upcoming vet visit.

🏡 Ideal Home

Oliver would do best in a calm, predictable home with no young children. He’d love to have another friendly cat companion and a patient adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to thrive. Loud noises, doorbells, and sudden change still startle him—but in the right environment, he blossoms into a loving, loyal, and interactive buddy.
