Dogs

Ramon and Margaret

Adopted

Well, this is a first for us! We have a bonded pair of Standard sized Dachshunds. Ramon is 5 and Margaret is 4. The two were rescued in Mexico together and have remained by each other’s side ever since. They just had clean bills of health at their check-up and recent dental cleanings. Their adoption fee is $495 each but must stay together. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. Ramon is a bit larger at 13 kg, Margaret is closer to 11kg. This dynamic duo is a bit shy and slow to warm up to new people. They can be very expressive vocally.

Any additional comments regarding temperament that haven’t been covered by the questions above? Ramon is super sweet and cuddly once he earns your trust. He will be the first to crawl up on your lap begging for kisses. Margaret is a lot more leery of new people and takes an extra day to two to build her confidence in you. Once she is comfortable she loves snuggles and especially a good chin/chest/back scratch. Both seem to get comfortable with older children, while nervous with younger/more energetic children. May take some extra time to get confidence littles won’t hurt them. So far they walk lovely on leash, running around trying to take in all the smells of our yard. No resource guarding, but haven’t really tested them.
Profile Information They love their food and treats and typical with any hound, have great vocals. Letting you know when anyone they don’t know is coming by. Working on house training, and due to being from warmer climates having a good sweater on hand is a must as they can get chilly quickly. Both are really sweet and want nothing more than snuggles and love once they build trust in their human.
