Lana’s back story:  While we do not know the specific story behind Lana being saved from the meat trade, we do know that her life was no doubt full of suffering and sadness. If she had not been rescued, her life would have ended very badly.  Second chance has a whole new meaning for a dog rescued from a life of abject loneliness, cruel treatment, and certain painful death. When you look in her eyes you may still see some anxiety but you will also see an overwhelming desire to be safe, to be loved.  Lana is now in the midst of a transformation.  As she gains confidence and her true personality comes out, she becomes more of her real self every day.

Lana now:  Lana is a very sweet and cuddly pup who constantly wants pets and chin scratches.  She is a smart girl who already knows how to sit, lie down, and shake a paw as long as treats are involved.  She loves smelling everything on her walks, is pretty good on leash and seems fine seeing other dogs.  Her foster family are working on house training.

Lana has a playful personality and can get excited when she first meets you.  She is a curious girl who likes to watch what people are doing before poking in her nose and joining the fun.  When she is relaxed, she sits under the dining table or next to you while you are eating or working in the kitchen.

For the most part, she is good in her crate.  She might start to whine a bit but eventually stops. Again, treats come in handy as the foster family work with Lana so that she is ok being left alone.  She is still adjusting to getting used to people entering the home and has not been around children or cats.
