Manny

Manny

Adopted

Manny came to us with his siblings as a transfer from another group. They were seized from their original owners who weren’t caring for them properly. HE is vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. He’s approximately 4 months old. Manny’s adoption fee is $595

No one wants a black dog – this is a real problem! Known as the black dog problem, more black dogs are euthanized in shelters worldwide than any other colour. But it is my sincere hope that being all black, does not get our little, sweetheart Manny overlooked this time!

What can I say, as his foster mom, other than that he’s beyond lovely, and by far my favourite foster puppy I have had in a very long time. He’s just super sweet and gentle. He is easily frightened but has already made remarkable progress in the few weeks in our home. In the beginning he was terrified of life, and things, and noises and people, even our children. But my two year old sits on the floor and feeds him at meal times tossing his kibble into his direction. This type of slow and gentle approach is needed for him to be successful, now he approaches my youngest when she kneels and calls for him, he’s still apprehensive but it’s a huge improvement and I am confident that with continued positive interactions with people and gentle kids he will thrive. He’s not one to be forced into desirable behaviour, instead he needs someone willing to continue his confidence building by having only positive experiences when he does desirable actions. He’s so lovable, in the evenings when I finally have time for cuddles with him, I sit on the floor and wait for him to snake crawl into my lap and turn over for belly rubs. He’s not at all mouthy, he’s working hard and doing very well with house training, he is easily corrected when he jumps up or tries to counter surf, with a simple no. This puppy has my heart and I hope he will find someone who will love him more than I already do.
