Profile Information/tell us more about this pet Meet Wally!

Wally is a very loveable animal, he needs time to warm up to you. He will approach when he is ready, but once he is comfortable he will give you all the snuggles and excitement.

You will notice that he wants to approach you, but in the beginning, he may not know how. He does well in low-pressure situations where you let him come to you. He will definitely warm up with some treats in hand! Wally would benefit from more positive reinforcement training.

He is a bit food oriented, so when he receives treats for good behavior he will often continue that behavior. This smart pup learned to sit in just a few days. He still has not quite caught on to any other tricks, but his foster brother is trying to teach him!

He loves the water so far and enjoys being outside, although with a lot of hair, he does get warm pretty quickly. He is very playful with his foster brother and loves a good snooze after.

He is learning that he does not own the house and not everything is a chew toy but can be redirected fairly easily.

Any additional comments regarding temperament that haven’t been covered by the questions above? Wally is a very loveable animal, he just needs time to warm up to you. He will approach when he is ready, but once he is comfortable he will give you all the snuggles and excitement. Wally is a groomable dog who’s hair requires regular brushing and maintenance. Wally’s adoption fee is $595

Wally came into our care as a transfer from another rescue. He was purchased as something for the kids to play with, who soon lost interest and was then left untouched, unhandled, and uncared for, for quite some time. He had not been in a house and it had been a long time since anyone interacted positively with him. He is very shy and learning how to trust so takes time to warm up to you. He knows people are not bad, but they can be a little scary. He requires caring and patient adopters who understand it will take time for him to come to visit you and ask for pets and snuggles. He is a little character though with a funny personality and with some training will make a wonderful addition to a new family. He must have another dog friend in the home and someone who is home most of the time as he is anxious when left. Wally is learning a lot about being a pet and has come so far in a short time. He will only continue to thrive in the right environment.
