UPDATE: We sadly lost Nyx unexpectedly. He likely had a tumor that hemorrhaged and despite great life-saving efforts, the decision to let him go was made. Rest in peace sweet boy. Your earthly struggles are over. Nyx had a name tag on our memorial tree placed during our memorial ceremony by his loving foster.

Nyx is a super sweet boy who was surrendered to us in the midst of a dire situation. Sadly, Nyx was suffering from bladder stones and a blockage and required life-saving surgery his owner was unable to afford. He was surrendered into our care and has since recovered from his ordeal. He will need to be fed a specialized diet to help maintain his bladder-stone-free-status.

Hi! I’m Nyx! I’m affectionate, curious, and low key. I love being picked up, cuddled and held. If you don’t say “hi” first, I might just come break the ice. Humans big or small – I love them just the same. I’m a cool cat in all the senses say my foster humans. I ended up at Rescue Friends because I had bladder stones and a urinary blockage. My previous owner couldn’t afford the surgery so I was unfortunately surrendered. I miss him but I’m looking forward to my forever home. My condition hasn’t held me back, except now I’m stuck with a life long diet. Surgery also left me with a shaved tummy, and without my fur to keep me warm I’m always always looking for a warm spot to sleep in. I love pillows, backpacks, beds, the fish tank, sunny spots, and sleeping between my humans. My fur is starting to grow back though and I can tell it’s going to be as lush as it once was. I have two other roommates – another cat and a rather large dog. I was a little weary of the dog at first but now we’re buds; we cuddle on the couch and I clean up his spilled dinner. I mostly ignore the cat; he’s older and I know I’m in his space. I like to frequent places he can’t reach – the top of the fridge, shelves in the closet, or sometimes the top of the kitchen cabinets. If your looking for a new buddy, I’m your guy.
